Naytahwaush is my home. This is a place filled with beautiful and talented people. Since we are a small village located on the White Earth Reservation, often times, you may only hear the bad news or about the tragedies that happen in small communities. Those that live here, know better....We are so much more than the bad things that happen to us!
Over the years, I began collecting images from the people of Naytahwaush. It began in 1985 when I began publishing the first newspaper dedicated to my community as part of the Naytahwaush Harvest Festival. Now, almost 40 years later, I would like to share these images with you.
Thank you to all the community members who have shared their images with me over the years. Especially Phyllis Turpin who collected so many class photos. She would be proud of this page. I hope you find someone, maybe yourself in these images.
I love this community, my home...a place filled with beautiful people who honor family and tradition. If you haven't been to our little village, then welcome to Naytahwaush, Minnesota.
